The Changing Of Hands Introduction Task; Evaluation.
My first introduction filming task was to make a short film with successful continuity which represented the changing of a parcel between hands.
I think my group managed to succeed the continuity rather well, as filming was done over the course of a few days; it was difficult to keep things such as outfits and hair exactly the same, however the errors in this aren't too obvious.
I think one main aspect my group achieved very well was meeting the criteria of including a variety of shot types. When the digital text starts, you can see a clear close up shot of somebody typing a text message, it then goes to a high shot looking down onto somebody, and then straight to an over the shoulder shot. This sequence of shots flow very well, and show continuity in the course of events.
As the short film progress', it is clear how we as a group have interpreted a variety of shot types to create mood and again a flowing continuity aspect.
In the criteria, we were told we could only use one moving camera shot. We chose to convey this when we see a young girl walking across the field. The idea of the camera moving allows us to see there is nobody around her, and she is simply alone in her travels towards the wood.
I found the most difficult part of completing the film was finding music in the editing process as on a whole, the film isn't massively intense, however has a sense of mystery lurking as the story unfolds. We used copyright free music to cover the whole film, and towards the end after the shooting edited the track so it was at a slower pace. I feel this worked very well, as it matched the visual editing of the girl being shot in slow motion, and how a black screen fades into the extreme close up of the face on the group.
